ITX Motherboards

ITX motherboards are smaller than normal PC motherboards. We primarily list Mini and Nano ITX form factors. a Nano-ITX motherboard only measures 12cm square (about 4.7 inches), and are great for cramming a lot of computer power into a small space-- like a robot, car, or to replace your desk computer.most individuals can do fine with a 1Ghz CPU with WinXP, and even more with Linux. ITX motherboards are generally well supported by Linux, and most distros can run out of the box.

Windows Vista is not recommended for any of these motherboards, but it will work with Home Basic (1Ghz+ motherboards only, with 1GB-2GB of RAM). Technically most of these motherboards don't fit the recommended requirements for Vista Business (64MB Video ram, instead of 128MB), but it still should work-- but we don't support this. For most embedded applications, Linux is a better choice as it offers better access to the hardware. It is even even a better choice for those applications that also require DVD playback, viewing and editing Microsoft Word and Power Point files, and web browsing.
